Meg Ryan received the Honorary Heart of Sarajevo in 2024, at the 30th Sarajevo Film Festival, part of the four-name 30th-edition class. She is the American actress of When Harry Met Sally (1989), Sleepless in Seattle (1993) and You’ve Got Mail (1998), and a director since Ithaca (2015).
Her visit to the festival drew some of its largest crowds of the edition — a reminder that the Honorary Heart’s stars list is not only about arthouse prestige. The rom-com queens and blockbuster faces on the roll are part of the point.

- Alexander Payne Film director and screenwriter
- Christof Papousek Co-owner, Constantin Film-Holding; managing partner, Cineplexx International
- Elia Suleiman Film director and writer
