Sarajevo Honorary Heart — Christof Papousek (2024)

Christof Papousek received the Honorary Heart of Sarajevo in 2024, at the 30th Sarajevo Film Festival. He is the Austrian cinema executive — co-owner of Constantin Film-Holding and managing partner of Cineplexx International, one of the region’s largest cinema chains.

His name appears on the festival’s own list of previous recipients for 2024, alongside Alexander Payne, Meg Ryan, Elia Suleiman and John Turturro, though it is absent from the commonly-circulated Wikipedia table. Note: this entry follows the festival’s official page, which is the authoritative source. It belongs to the patron thread of the roll — the cinema and exhibition figures who keep the festival’s screens full — and it gains context from the same year’s launch of the Prix Cineplexx, the festival’s audience-chosen prize backed by the chain.

Also honoured in 2024

• Elia Suleiman Film director and writer
• John Turturro Actor and director
