Nedim Hadzimahmutovic — one person on one byline. Every source credited, every photograph attributed, every fact checked against the original.

Fraunces — variable serif by Phaedra Charles & Undercase Type. Optical sizing 9 → 144, weights 300–700. Used for headlines, ledes, quotable copy.

Inter — humanist sans by Rasmus Andersson. Weights 400, 500, 600. Used for body copy, microcopy, kickers, navigation.

The PDF booklets are set in Pagella (serif) and Heros (sans) — close cousins of Fraunces / Inter, chosen so the print companion reads with the same voice as the website.

Real photographs from Wikimedia Commons, Unsplash, Flickr Creative Commons, Pixabay, or venue-supplied “Used with permission” sets. Every image carries a verifiable licence and a named photographer. No stock photo is ever presented as a venue it does not depict.

Original SVG illustrations on the postcards page and in the postcards PDF only. Each carries <title> / <desc> / <metadata> blocks asserting © ExploreSarajevo.com.

Jekyll static site generator. Sass with a hand-written design system in _sass/. Vanilla JavaScript — no framework, no bundler. Leaflet + OpenStreetMap tiles for the maps. Installable as a PWA via /manifest.json and a small service worker at /sw.js.

Eight downloadable PDFs — main booklet, postcards, destinations, hidden gems, stories, guides, about, plus one per pocket guide. Edited and laid out by Nedim. Available on /downloads/.

Static files served from a CDN. No tracker. No cookie wall. No popup. No third-party JavaScript except Leaflet (loaded only on map pages, from CDN) and Instagram’s embed script (loaded only on pages with an Instagram embed).

2026 · Series I. The site began in 2025 and is maintained continuously. Last build: 15 October 2026.

Every factual claim is checked against primary sources: academic dissertations, peer-reviewed journal articles, census records, and operator websites (zicara.ba, zfbh.ba, sarajevo-airport.ba). When the site paraphrases or quotes from another writer’s work, the writer is named and the original source is linked. A “Sources” block appears at the bottom of any page that draws materially on outside reporting.

Spotted an error? Email h.nedim@gmail.com with the page URL and what looks wrong. Corrections are made within 48 hours and noted in the page’s update timestamp. The site does not silently edit published claims — when a fact changes, the correction is visible.

Venue pages (hours, prices, seasonal info) are verified every six months. Historical and architectural content is reviewed every twelve months. Prices in BAM are re-checked on every edit. A page’s last_updated date reflects the most recent verification, not a cosmetic refresh.

Only photographs with a verifiable licence are published: CC-licensed from Wikimedia Commons, Unsplash, Flickr CC, Pixabay, or museum public-domain releases. Venue-supplied photographs are used only with written permission, documented internally. Every photograph is credited with the photographer’s name, source, and licence. No uncredited image appears on the site.
