Ruben Östlund received the Honorary Heart of Sarajevo in 2022, at the 28th Sarajevo Film Festival, in a four-name class with Eisenberg, Loznitsa and Schrader. He is the Swedish director of Force Majeure (2014), The Square (2017) and Triangle of Sadness (2022) — the last two of which both won the Palme d’Or at Cannes.
He is the sharpest satirist of comfortable, contemporary Western life working in European film, and his two-name 2022 double-prize run made him one of the few filmmakers in the roll who received a Sarajevo Heart at the exact peak of their form.
