Steve Buscemi received the Honorary Heart of Sarajevo in 2007, at the 13th Sarajevo Film Festival. He is the American actor known for the Coen brothers’ films — Miller’s Crossing, Fargo, The Big Lebowski — and for Reservoir Dogs; his directorial debut was Trees Lounge (1996).

He was an early American name on a roll that, in 2007, still read mostly as a list of European and regional cinema people. His page marks the moment the festival began to pull recognisable names from the wider world — two years before Morgan Freeman, four before Angelina Jolie.
