Mads Mikkelsen received the Honorary Heart of Sarajevo in 2020, at the 26th Sarajevo Film Festival, in the same class as Michel Franco. He is the Danish actor of The Hunt (2012), Another Round (2020) and the television Hannibal, and a rare star who moves between European art cinema and global franchise films without losing either audience.
His award arrived as the pandemic edition of the festival went ahead — a smaller class, a narrower programme, but a roll that stayed unbroken.

What they said in Sarajevo
I was to receive the Honorary Heart in 2020, but the pandemic postponed it. I'm glad I came now to see all these people, this crowd.
